Grapefruit & Rosemary Coconut Oil Body Butter

Grapefruit & Rosemary Body Butter

I wanted to combine the wholesome yumminess of Burt’s Bee’s with the exotic smell of my favorite perfume Jo Malone’s grapefruit and rosemary.

The result was an incredible delight for both your nose and your skin that is perfume free (all essential oils).

Ingredients

Directions

1.  Place all ingredients except essential oils into a glass jar and place into a pan of unheated water.  *You can also use a double boiler if you’d like, I prefer this method because it’s easier to clean up.  Do NOT ever put cold glass into boiling water, you might shatter the glass.

2.  Turn the heat onto high and melt the wax and cocoa butter.  Stir as needed until the oil is well blended.

3.  Remove the mixture from the the heat and add in the oils.

4.  Transfer it to container that can be well sealed.

Where else can I get all these fancy ingredients?

Whole Foods, Amazon, Target, and some pharmacies carry the supplies.

Clean Up
I found that the residue of the wax stayed on the jar.  I cleaned it out as much as possible by wiping the inside with a paper towel after I poured the mixture because I didn’t want the wax to get on my good pans or in the drain.

  1. I STILL have a ton of old bath and body stuff laying around, it's crazy and I don't want to throw it away either :( I've got to use it up too, I can't throw it away!!! I'll def stop by. Sorry I wasn't able to get in today, but I've got you bookmarked and following you, so I'm sure I'll see you soon!

  3. Well doesn't this look yummy! I could SO get hooked on making my own bath & body products. The only thing stopping me is that I have a gigantic basket full of body lotions and washes that I got as gifts or that I bought on vacations…and I'm probably about five years from using it all up! LOL Although I must admit, every so often I toy with the idea of chucking all of it (it's all Bath and Body Works and stuff like that), and going all natural. I just can't make peace with being so wasteful. I feel like I have to use it all!

Anyway, you posted on my FB page a while ago and I somehow missed it. And today I was scrolling through my page and I saw you! I liked your FB page, and your blog is delightful! I'm following!

Oh, and I have a blog hop going on on my site right now. Feel free to stop by and link up! (You'll see the button in the upper left). Have a great weekend!
